Cookies for Marines
UPDATE 2: Over 335 boxes of cookies donated!! We have until Saturday to get orders in and even businesses are donating now. Anyone feel like hitting up their own employer to donate? Go

I just discovered (via John at Op-for) that the guys at A Soldier's Perspective are collecting donations for Girl Scout Cookies ... for Marines.
Having been a Girl Scout myself and being a lover of both tastey Girl Scout Cookies and yummy, yummy Marines, I just couldn't turn down this opportunity to donate.
Besides, who deserves a box of thin mints more than these guys?
UPDATE:
CJ says they're almost at 300 boxes of cookies ... 300 boxes ... and there's still a whole week left to donate.
His daughter has taken on a huge goal of getting these cookies overseas AND sending thank you notes to everyone that donates. She's an amazing girl with great dreams. We're lucky to have her supporting our troops and her parents supporting her efforts.
Personally, I'm humbled.

Princess, thanks so much for your support. As of 2300 tonight (11pm), we are only four boxes shy of Anissa's goal...and she still has until Oct 7!! She's set a new goal of 300 boxes to take care of the remaining two Marine units on our list, but won't be upset if she doesn't make it. She's beaming with excitement. Thanks again for helping.

Okay, so the guys and girls get cookies.
I'm with it. I'm donating.
But I keep getting mistaken for a Marine, even by Marines. Doesn't that mean I at least get some low-fat cookies? Maybe some Treffoils?

Wanted to let you and your readers know that we've gotten more than 220 boxes of cookies donated since beginning the project. I'll be removing the donation link at 300, since it will be at that point that I exhaust my list of Marines the cookies will go to. Thanks to everyone for donating.
